Girl who left home with youth was taken to room in railway colony, sexually assaulted for several days; one of the accused is railway police officer

PUNE: A 17-year-old girl, who left home with her boyfriend, was allegedly sexually assaulted by a group of men for several days. The 17-year-old from Chandigarh has lodged a complaint with the police. The incident related to the case took place in September.

In her complaint, the girl alleged that she was sexually assaulted for days by an RPF head constable, other elders in the railway station and the employees of the NGO named Siddharth Multipurpose Society. Police have arrested volunteer Kamlesh Tiwari (50) in the incident. Another accused RPF Constable Anil Pawar (45) is absconding, Additional Superintendent of Police Ganesh Shinde told the media.

The girl, who left home with her boyfriend was taken to the room used by accused Kamlesh in the Railway Colony and sexually assaulted for days. The incident took place between September 12 and 17. The girl, who managed to escape from the room after a week, returned to her home and later lodged a complaint with a police station in Chandigarh. On September 30, the police handed over the case to the Railway Police. Following this, the girl's boyfriend was arrested.

The girl, a class 10 student, left home with her 25-year-old boyfriend on September 9. In her complaint, the girl said that when they reached the railway station, three persons present at the station took them to a policeman wearing a uniform. Following this, the two were taken to the railway colony and locked up in a room. She also stated that the policeman entered the room at around 1 a.m. and sexually assaulted her.
