KOCHI: Senior government pleader P G Manu of the Kerala High Court has been expelled on the complaint of sexually abusing a woman, who came seeking legal aid. Reports said the advocate general asked him to resign as per government’s directive.

The Chottanikkara police had earlier registered a case against him on the woman’s complaint. The case was registered after imposing charges of insulting woman and IT Act. The IT Act was imposed based on her statement that after sexually abusing her he shot the pictures on his mobile. As he had been removed from the post, a notice will be issued to testify him. He is likely to be arrested after this.

A native of Ernakulam filed the complaint against Manu. The victim of a sexual abuse case in 2018 approached Manu seeking legal help as per the instructions of the police. The woman told police that he sexually abused her after summoning her to his office in Kadavanthra on the promise of providing legal assistance. The complaint also stated that he committed the same act after arriving at her house in official vehicle. It is alleged that when she was moving forward with the case, he tried to make her withdraw the case after putting pressure on her.
