NEW DELHI: Anju, a native of Rajasthan, who went to Pakistan to marry a young man whom she befriended through Facebook, has been interrogated in detail by investigative agencies. Anju was interrogated for an hour at the centre in Amritsar by the Punjab Police and Intelligence Department. Later on Wednesday night, she was allowed to go to Delhi.

Reports quoting IB officials said that the woman had returned to India for some specific purpose. Meanwhile, Anju has decided to return to Pakistan to be with her Pak beau. Before heading to Pakistan, Anju will legally end her relationship with husband Aravind who is in Rajasthan. Anju also wants to take her 15-year-old daughter and her six-year-old son to Pakistan.

In 2019, Anju befriended a young man named Nasrullah (29) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa village in Pakistan. She visited Pakistan in July and married Nasrullah. Anju later converted to Islam and rechristened to Fatima.

Pakistan later extended Anju’s visa for one more year. In September, Nasrullah said Anju was mentally tormented after being not allowed to see her children who were in Rajasthan. It was after this development that India allowed permission for Anju to visit her children.
