KOZHIKODE: A jawan, who is undergoing treatment accusing police of brutally assaulting him, has been shifted to a military hospital. Pulpally native Ajith was shifted from Kozhikode Medical College to Kannur Military Hospital under the leadership of Major Manu Ashok.

Ajith is working in the EME section of 301 Light Regiment in Uttar Pradesh. The police had imposed traffic restrictions in Pulpally in connection with the festival at the Seetha Devi Lava-Kusha temple in Pulpally. An argument broke out between Ajith and the police after Ajith tried to go through the restricted road on his bike. Ajith alleged that following the dispute, the police took him to the station and brutally assaulted him.

The Army intervened after Ajith's relatives informed the 301 Light Regiment of Uttar Pradesh about the matter. Ajith's relatives had got the discharge sheet signed by the authorities of the Medical College to shift him to the military hospital. However, the doctors later said that Ajith could not be transferred from the hospital. The relatives alleged that the hospital authorities said so due to police intervention.

Meanwhile, the police have denied all the allegations. Police said that they hadn't assaulted Ajith and that he might've got injured after getting kicked by someone among the locals who subsided him at Green Valley. The police also alleged that Ajith had attacked the policemen using a helmet.
