CM Vijayan slams Guv, says he has no time to read policy address, but can sit on road for one and half hours

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday called the governor's policy address as a kind of challenge to Kerala. "It was an insult towards Kerala. This is a contempt of the Constitution. It cannot be assumed that this is only for one front or the government. That is what his later response shows. The governor has time to sit on the road for an hour and a half, but no time to read a policy address," he said.

"Different forms of protest may be raised against those in positions of power. How should those in such positions react to that? Have you seen the authorities going in person to see what police action are being taken against the protestors? This is contrary to normal security practices. The duty of the police will be performed by the police. When such incidents happen, the governor and the leader of the opposition have one voice. Even the sentences are similar. It's weird," he added.

'Maybe Khan wanted to be on that list'

"As the head of the state, the governor sits in the most secure position. The governor has said that he does not want that security. Some already have central security in Kerala. RSS workers Sundaran Govindan of Kodungallur, Sujith of Aluva, Sudhi of Alangattu, Ramachandran of Aluva and Sajeevan of Kodungallur. The central government may have thought that Arif Mohammad Khan should be included in that list," the CM said.
