Erode MP A Ganeshamurthi who tried to commit suicide admitted to hospital; Health condition serious

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Erode MP and MDMK leader A Ganeshamurthi attempted suicide. He was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Coimbatore. The incident happened around 9:30 am today. Doctors at the private hospital in Coimbatore said that his health condition remains critical.

MDMK party leader Ganesamurthy won last time on the DMK symbol. This time, the ally DMK denied seat to Ganeshamurthi. DMK took the Erode seat instead. Udayanidhi's nominee KA Prakash is contesting as a DMK candidate in Erode this time. The family members said that Ganeshamurthi was under severe mental stress for a week.
