NEW DELHI: Actor-turned BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut has found herself in a spot after mistakenly targeting her party colleague. Kangana, who is the BJP candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, mentioned the name of Tejasvi Surya instead of Tejashwi Yadav while taking a dig at the opposition. During an election campaign, Kangana intended to criticize Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav but end up naming Tejasvi Surya, the BJP MP from Bengaluru South.
"There is a party of spoilt 'shehzaadas' (princes). They themselves don't know where to go. Be it Rahul Gandhi, who wants to grow potatoes on the moon, or Tejasvi Surya, who indulges in hooliganism and eats fish," she said.
A video of Tejashwi Yadav eating fish was circulated earlier, which sparked a major debate between BJP and RJD. Tejashwi Yadav is the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.
Sharing a video of Kangana on X and responding to her criticism, Tejashwi Yadav asked "Ye mohtarma kaun hai?" (Who is this lady?)
Congress also criticized Kangana that she should first understand about her own party leaders and then react. Yesterday, the Congress accused Kangana of comparing Motilal Nehru, father of the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, to Ambani.
