Government extends term of state police chief; Announces key appointments and upgrades

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has extended the term of the state police chief Sheikh Darvesh Saheb till June 30, 2025. The decision was taken in view of the existing Supreme Court order, which is due to expire on July 1.

Gratius Kuriakos will be appointed as Additional State Public Prosecutor in the High Court for a period of three years.

Travancore Titanium (V. Kuttappan Pillai), Coir Machinery Manufacturing Company (M.K. Sasikumar), Cashew Corporation (K. Sunil John), Kerala Ceramics (S. Shyamala), Keltron Component (KK Gopinathan Nair) Keltron Electro Ceramics (E K Jacob Tharakan) were also appointed as MDs of the institutions.

HSST Junior English posts will be upgraded from 2018 onwards. Thrissur Kuttanallur St. Augustine's HSS, Kottayam St. Mary's HSS, Thiruvananthapuram Panavoor PHMKMV & HSS, Palakkad Pudunagaram Muslim HSS, Alappuzha Valamangalam SCS HSS will be recognized as HSST English teachers. 9th and 10th salary revisions will be implemented.
