PALAKKAD: Following the footprints of Suresh Gopi's victory in Thrissur, the BJP has started preparations for the Palakkad by-elections. The BJP started its Palakkad by-election campaign with a reception to Union Ministers Suresh Gopi and George Kurian.
Speaking at the event, Suresh Gopi said that if people gives Palakkad (to BJP), they they will take over Kerala.
In the last two assembly elections, the BJP had come second in the Palakkad constituency. The BJP leadership is hoping that the success in Thrissur can be repeated in Palakkad too. BJP has started working at the grassroots level in Mathoor, Kandy, Pirayiri panchayats and Palakkad Municipal Corporation.
E Sreedharan had seen a close fight with Shafi Parambil in the last assembly elections. BJP is considering the names of state president K Surendran, Shobha Surendran and state general secretary C Krishnakumar.
