VIJAYAWADA: Nara Bhuvaneshwari, wife of Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and daughter of former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao, has entered active politics. Her move is to gain a foothold in people's minds through programs where she will interact directly with women and the disadvantaged sections of society. As the first phase of this, a four-day public outreach program was started today in the Kuppam constituency.

Bhuvaneshwari may be given important status in TDP. There are indications that Bhuvaneshwari will be considered as soon as the Rajya Sabha seat becomes vacant. Kuppam is the constituency that Naidu has consistently represented. Two villages here will be adopted by Bhubaneswari as part of the regional development plan.

Bhuvaneshwari interacted with the women of the constituency today and heard their concerns. Sewing machines were provided to them. She later inaugurated a skill development centre at Kuppam for local residents. People's representatives from the Kuppam area and TDP leaders were with her. In the following days Bhubaneswari will visit several villages including N.Kothapalli, Nandamuru, Urlaobanapalle and Gudlanayanipalle. Bhubaneswari will also reach Somapuram, Karlagatta and Ramakuppam constituencies in the coming days.

Bhubaneswari will assess the progress of housing project in Shivapuram on 26th. Sewing machine distribution will happen there also.

Bhuvaneswari had stayed away from active politics till now. Bhuvaneswari started attending political meetings after the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department arrested Chandrababu on September 9, 2023 and sent him to jail. Bhuvaneswari had campaigned against the YSRCP during the 53 days Naidu spent in the Rajahmundry Central Jail. Bhuvaneshwari's son Nara Lokesh, who won from Mangalagiri constituency, is now a minister.
