Decisive move to seize power; Modi, INDIA alliance vying to bring Chandrababu Naidu along

lok-abha-polls

NEW DELHI: As the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections is approaching the final rounds, the BJP has made a decisive move to seize power in the country. The BJP, having failed to produce the kind of result it had hoped for, is now attempting to hold its allies together and seek the support of parties outside the NDA alliance. Meanwhile, the INDIA alliance has also started looking into the possibility of forming the government, thanks to its great performance on the day of counting.

Both ruling and opposition parties have come up seeking the support of Chandrababu Naidu, who made a comeback in Andhra Pradesh, and Nitish Kumar in Bihar. As the NDA failed to put up a great performance like last year, the stands of Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar will be crucial in the formation of the government. Realising this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi contacted Chandrababu Naidu over the phone and sought his support.

Meanwhile, reports are claiming that leaders of the INDIA front have also contacted Chandrababu Naidu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin contacted Chandrababu Naidu over the phone. NCP leader NCP leader Sharad Pawar is also seeking the support of other parties for the INDIA Front to form the government. He is in touch with JDU leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

With the INDIA front leading in 225 seats, it is reported that the Congress-led INDIA front will stake claim to form the government. The INDIA front is also attempting to bring the YSR Congress into the alliance. In the present situation, the INDIA front will get an additional of nearly 30 seats if it gets the support of Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United).

Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has put forward the suggestion to consider Nitish Kumar for the position of Prime Minister. The opposition leaders are trying to bring Nitish Kumar into their camp by giving him at least the post of convener of the INDIA front.
