THRISSUR: T A Sunder Menon, Thiruvambadi Devaswom President and accused in various cases of fraud, has been arrested. The crime branch arrested him Sunday morning on the complaint of 18 people for not getting their investments of crores. He started a firm named Heewan Finance a few years ago at Poonkunnam Chakkamukku. Menon was the chairman of the firm.

He started the firm after joining hands with the Congress leader, who was the managing director. The investors lodged a complaint with the police for not getting back their money. He will be produced in the court immediately. The organization was started with headquarters in Jammu. However, it was clear that the firm did not have an office in Jammu. There were many branches in Kerala. More than 300 people had filed a complaint. A petition was also filed in the high court.

He cheated people by saying that they would be paid double the fixed deposit amount after maturity. The investors protested as money was not given. The firm closed months ago. Sundar Menon is facing trial in the case of attacking a girl after barging into her house in Thrissur. In addition, Padmanabhan of Kozhikode had filed a plea with the President demanding that Padma Shri conferred to him, an accused in many cases, should be taken back.
