BENGALURU: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated an investigation against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the MUDA land scam case, charging him with money laundering. The ED's preliminary inquiry comes after the state Lokayukta had already taken up a case against Siddaramaiah.

The preliminary investigation has been announced against Siddaramaiah, his wife BN Parvathy, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju who bought the land. All four have been charged with sections under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Earlier, a Special Court of People's Representatives in Bengaluru had ordered a probe against Siddaramaiah in the case. The Mysuru Lokayukta Police should investigate the case. The court has directed the Lokayukta Police to investigate and submit a report within three months.
