HYDERABAD: Actor Allu Arjun said he was heartbroken over the death of a woman in the stampede during the first screening of ‘Pushpa-2' movie. The terrible incident occurred at Sandhya theatre where a woman and her children fell on the ground in the stampede. The children suffered injuries while the woman died.

Allu expressed grief over the death of Revathi and also promised Rs 25 lakh financial assistance to her kin.

“I have always watched my films with the audience, and this time was no different. It’s heartbreaking that Revathi Garu lost her life in the stampede at RTC cross road. This tragedy overshadows the film's success. The loss is irreparable and I am committed to helping her family in all ways possible. I will be donating Rs 25 lakhs to help her two children, and we will also cover the medical expenses of the injured child.” said Allu.

The accident took place during the premiere show of Pushpa at Sandhya Theater in RTC Cross Road. Revathi (39), a native of Dilsukh Nagar, died.

The woman came to see the movie with her husband Bhaskar and two children. Revathi and her son got caught in the middle as people pushed and shoved to meet Allu Arjun. She collapsed in the rush. The police and bystanders immediately administered CPR and rushed her to the hospital.

A case was registered against Allu in the incident. The DCP of Hyderabad stated that the theatre owners informed the police about the actor's arrival very late. The theatre owners also failed to provide enough security to manage the crowd.
