International recognition for Jayasurya, chosen best actor at Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati

Jayasurya has been adjudged the best actor at the Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati held in Cincinnati, USA. He was given the award for his stunning performance in Njan Marykutty.

The festival is organized with the intent of inspiring filmmakers from South Asian countries. Films dealing with social issues is highlighted in the fest.

Nearly 500 films from India competed. Good films from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were there to compete.

Jayasurya in a Facebook post said this achievement is a great honour for him and it was one of the most challenging roles in his film career. He specially thanked the director of the film Renjith Shankar and his crew.

Jayasurya played a transgender in ‘Njan Marykutty’ released in 2018. The film grabbed many awards including the award for the best actor. The film has been selected for Playa Del Carmen film fest in Spain.
