Fire in secretariat: State turns battlefield, many injured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Various opposition parties in the state are staging protests following the fire in the Secretariat. Protests by the opposition parties turned violent in the state leading to clashes that left many injured. Protests by the BJP, Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha turned violent in front of the secretariat. Police used grenades and water cannons towards the activists. The dispersed protestors later joined the protests. The BJP district committee are now staging protests.

The protests staged by the SDPI activists in front of the secretariat turned violent. The activists who tried to destroy the barricades clashed with the police.

Mahila Congress activists are staging protests at the North Gate in front of the Secretariat. They burned the effigy of the chief minister. Police stopped the strike staged by youth congress activists in Kollam. The congress activists burned the effigy of the chief minister in Kannur.

The police used water cannons towards the protestors who staged a march towards the Kannur Collectorate. The activists sustained injuries in the lathicharge. The police arrested and shifted the activists from there.

The police arrested and removed BJP activists who protested in Kochi. A clash broke out in the protests staged by the youth congress.
