Boy sustains burns while imitating YouTube video, miserable end for 12-year-old boy in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 12-year-old-boy had a miserable end while imitating a YouTube video. He sustained burns while imitating a video. He has been identified as Sivanarayanan, son of Prakash of Venganoor in the capital city. He was a seventh class student of Venganoor VPS Secondary School.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon. The boy sustained burns when he was trying to straighten his hair using fire after seeing the video in YouTube. The fire soon spread to his hair and clothes. As he tried the act in the bathroom, nobody noticed it.

The boy had used mobile phone for online classes. He may have seen the video in it. Only his grandmother and brother were at home at the time of the incident. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he died Wednesday morning. The body was handed over to his relatives after post mortem. The videos of professionals cutting hair using fire had gone viral recently.
