Kodakara hawala case: BJP Alappuzha district treasurer K G Kartha to be questioned tomorrow

THRISSUR: BJP Alappuzha district treasurer K G Kartha will be questioned tomorrow in the Kodakara hawala money case. DySP V K Raju, who is in charge of the investigation, will reach Alappuzha and question him. BJP leaders Girish and Ganesh will be asked to appear again in the coming days.

Although Gireesh and Ganesh were directed to appear for questioning the other day, their statements could not be taken as they informed their inconvenience to turn up. Following that, a notice will be issued again asking them to appear in two days.

There is a move to collect statements from more accused remanded. Three could not be questioned in detail as diagnosed with Covid. The police started the move to record a statement as one person turned negative.

Shamjeer, driver of RSS activist Dharmaraj, had lodged a complaint alleging that Rs 25 lakh was stolen from his car after creating an accident. Though the complaint said that Rs 25 lakh was stolen, the investigators found that actual amount could be about Rs 3.5 crore, and it was a hawala transaction.
