KOCHI: The Kerala High Court asked why extending the term of last grade rank list when lakhs of job seekers are outside. The court asked this while considering the plea filed by PSC against administrative tribunal’s order seeking extension of the validity of the last grade rank list. The single bench has informed that the term of the rank list will not be extended. The court cancelled the tribunal’s order also. With this, the job seekers had suffered a severe blow.
The administrative tribunal extended the term of the last grade list till the end of September. The single bench of the high court also expressed doubts as to whether the administrative tribunal has the power to issue such an interim order. The order has been quashed by the high court. The term of one list has been extended and the court said that it was not right.
Meantime, PSC informed the court that the vacancies are being reported accurately. The government had informed that they are continuing with the process of new appointments. The PSC approached the court showing that extending the list will deprive new candidates of the opportunity.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed the assembly yesterday that the validity of the lists which ends tomorrow will not be extended.
