Kootickal landslide: One more body recovered, death toll rises to four

KOTTAYAM: One more body has been recovered from the Kootickal area. The deceased has been identified as Ilamkadu native Shallat. The body was recovered from Vettikkanam in Kootickanam. Shallat's name was not on the official list of missing persons. With this, the death toll has reached four.

Three bodies were recovered from Plappally on Friday. Navy helicopters will go to Kootickal. Food parcels will be distributed to those trapped in the disaster zone. Meanwhile, the search for those missing in the Kokkayar has begun. The search is being led by the NDRF team and locals. Dog Squads from Thripunithura and Idukki will also reach the area. Eight persons are missing in the area. Seven houses were destroyed in the landslide.
