THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president K Sudhakaran has welcomed the central government's decision to reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel. Thanking the Centre for its "belated action." Sudhakaran added that the Congress will launch a strong protest if the state government refuses to reduce the tax on fuel.

"The price of petrol and diesel won't come down only with the Centre reducing the tax. The state government should also cut the tax on fuel. We will launch strong protests if it refuses to reduce the tax," Sudhakaran said. He also added that the Pinarayi government should follow the example set by the Oommen Chandy government.
