THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, who was admitted to a hospital due to a stomach ailment and low sodium levels, has been discharged from hospital. He was discharged from the Pattom SUT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram after his health improved significantly. Son VA Arun Kumar confirmed the information and posted it on Facebook.
The 98 - year - old VS was admitted to the hospital on November 1 due to ill health. VS has been absent from public functions for two years. He was the Chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission during the first Pinarayi government and resigned in January this year. Then he was resting at his home in Thiruvananthapuram. The last public event he attended was 2019 Punnapra Vayalar Martyrs' Day.
