THRISSUR: A youth, who promised to return soon with the money after making his mother and sister sit in the jewellery shop, was found hanging at home. He has been identified as Vipin (25) of Pachalapoottu House at Kunduvara in Gandhi Nagar, Thrissur. The youth had tried for a loan in connection with the marriage of his sister. Initial reports said he may have taken the drastic step after failing to get the loan.

As his family has only three cents of land, he was not eligible for the loan. He had applied for loans at new generation banks also. He was informed that loan has been granted. Following that, he along with his mother and sister went to buy gold. He left them there promising to come with the money.

The bank later informed him that loan cannot be sanctioned. The youth ended his life after that. After waiting for a long time, his mother Baby and sister Vidya returned home and found him hanging. His sister’s marriage was fixed for next Sunday. Vipin, who was working in a supermarket lost his job during Covid time. His father Vasu, a carpenter, died five years ago.
