Neethu called taxi to escape with abducted newborn, taxi driver's suspicions helped police find baby

KOTTAYAM: The intervention of a taxi driver helped the police to find the newborn baby who was abducted from the Medical College Hospital. Neethu, who had abducted the baby, called the taxi driver Alex to escape from the hotel. His suspicion helped police find the baby.

Alex was called by the hotel for taxi service. Alex was suspicious when he saw Neethu coming down from the hotel reception with her baby. The news of the missing baby had already spread through the media. When asked where she was going, Neethu said she wanted to take the baby to Amrita, and his suspicions doubled when he saw a boy with her, said taxi driver Alex.

Alex told Sabu, the hotel manager, about his suspicions and decided to report the matter to the police. Police arrived at the scene, took Neethu into custody and returned the baby to the mother.

The incident took place at 3.30 pm today. Neethu, disguised as a nurse, took the baby from her mother for treatment. However, the truth of the incident came to light when the relatives contacted the hospital authorities after some time. The relatives then informed the police. The baby was found during a police investigation.
