Worms in fish, four of family in Thiruvananthapuram fall sick due to food poisoning

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Four members of a family who ate fish curry at Kallara in Thiruvananthapuram have been infected by food poisoning. Biju and his family members, who bought fish from 'Pazhayachantha' in Kallara, got food poisoning.

Biju bought Horse Mackerel for Rs 200. He and his family ate fish made from this on Friday afternoon. After eating this, Biju's daughter first experienced abdominal pain. During the night, Biju's wife also experienced abdominal pain. Biju also felt unwell this afternoon. During the night, the second daughter also experienced abdominal pain. Following this, the four had to seek treatment at a private hospital.

Meanwhile, another person who bought fish from the same shop where Biju bought fish this evening got worms from Tuna fish. He then lodged a complaint with the Collectorate. Venjarammoodu police and Kallara village officer reached the spot and collected samples of the fish.
