KOCHI: PC George has been granted interim bail in Vennala hate speech case. The single bench of High Court granted him bail with conditions. The court also ordered not to arrest PC George until Thursday.

The court will reconsider the case on Thursday. After being granted bail, the court ordered PC George not to make public statements or speak to the media. PC George's response was that he would not hide from the law.

The government had expressed his objection in granting bail to PC George in the court. Ernakulam Sessions Court had earlier rejected his bail plea. Later PC George was absconed due to possibility of arrest.

The Palarivattom police registered a case against PC George on May 10 following a complaint that he had made similar remarks in Vennala following a hate speech in Thiruvananthapuram.
