KOCHI: The High Court on Monday asked if children should be barred from participating in political party rallies and chanting slogans. Justice P Gopinath asked this while considering the petitions related to the POCSO cases.

The single bench was referring to the video footage of a child shouting provocative slogans at a Popular Front rally in Alappuzha yesterday. There is a new trend of making children participate in rallies and asking them to shout provocative slogans. When these children grow up, how will their minds shape up? The single bench also said that people should think about whether it was desirable to use children in this manner in the name of freedom of expression and freedom of religion.
