LUCKNOW: Only hours after the daughter of a Karnataka BJP MLA misbehaved with a traffic policeman in Mysuru, another similar incident of power abuse has been reported in Uttar Pradesh. Although the incident took place on June 4, the FIR was registered only last day. The case was registered against the nephew of the state’s forest minister.

The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly. In a video, Amit Kumar, nephew of state’s Forest Minister Arun Kumar Saxena, and his friends were seen thrashing home guards platoon commander Omendra Kumar at a tea stall in the area. They attacked the guard over a dispute about his duty area.

The video showing the gang publicly beating Omendra Kumar for about 30 minutes and tearing up his uniform has gone viral on social media. In the video, the youths are seen holding beer bottles. Following which, the Bareilly local police registered an FIR, but Amit’s name was not mentioned in it. Later, as the incident stoked a controversy, the police included the name of the minister’s nephew as well.
