THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the SilverLine is a project for the better future of the state. The Chief Minister also stated in the press conference that the state did not expect that the project would not get central approval.

"We expected that the project would get permission. After receiving in-principle approval for the project, the state government moved forward with it quickly and also initiated steps, like surveys, without waiting for the final nod as it did not want to delay the implementation of the rail corridor. Unfortunately, those speaking for the Centre are saying that the project should not go forward. The project cannot go forward without the Centre's approval," CM said.
