KOCHI: The Kerala High Court rejected the plea of Mohammed Nisham, the accused in the case of killing Chandra Bose, a security employee. The court rejected Nisham's plea to set aside the sentence and also government's plea to award him maximum sentence. The order of the division bench upheld the sentence of the Thrissur Additional Sessions Court.
Nisham, arrested on January 29 in 2015, was sentenced to 24 years’ imprisonment in addition to life imprisonment by the Thrissur Sessions Court and a fine of Rs 80,30,000. This was upheld by the division bench. Nisham attacked and killed Chandra Bose, a security employee of Thrissur Shobha City, after enraged by the delay in opening the gate and for asking his ID card after stopping his vehicle. Chandra Bose was chased and fatally knocked down. Chandra Bose, who was lying down was taken to the parking area and then beat him to death.
