THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A passenger was roughed up in the middle of the road for allegedly honking in a traffic signal. The incident happened Tuesday evening at Neeramankara in Thiruvananthapuram. Pradeep, a native of Neyyattinkara and an officer of the agriculture department, was roughed up. He was beaten up by two youths. The visuals of the incident have surfaced.

Pradeep, who suffered serious face injuries, has three stitches in his mouth. There was a traffic jam at Neeramankara at the time of the incident. The people behind Pradeep's vehicle were honking. However, two youths on a bike who were right in front of his vehicle, thinking that it was Pradeep who honked, beat him brutally. They beat Pradeep shouting ‘go through this block’. The two youths later went from there. Though a complaint was lodged with the Karamana police, they have not been traced so far.
