THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Travancore Titanium Deputy General Manager (Legal) Sasikumaran Thampi, the fifth accused in the Titanium job fraud case, has been suspended from service. The decision was taken in a meeting of top officials of Titanium yesterday. Four accused, including Sasikumaran Thampi, are absconding.

The Venjarammoodu police will file an application in the court seeking the custody of the first accused Divya Jyothi (Divya Nair), who is in remand, for further questioning. Divya was arrested based on the complaint of a Pirappancode native that she had embezzled 14 lakhs by promising a job in Travancore Titanium.

Meanwhile, another police team led by Poojapura police, which is conducting a probe based on the complaint of a Kottakkakam native, visited the Travancore Titanium yesterday and collected evidence from there. The police also brought the complainant to the spot. The complainant reiterated that the fake interview was conducted at Sasikumaran Thampi's cabin and that Thampi had explained about the job and promotion possibilities there. The police sought information about Thampi from the managing director and others. Apart from Thampi, Divya's husband Rajesh Kumar, brother Premkumar and his friend Shyam Lal have gone into hiding.

The police team conducted an inspection of the house of the accused Premkumar. Many pieces of evidence were found burnt. The police collected some unburnt papers such as the biodata of some candidates.
