Cabinet meeting decides to create additional posts in corporations and municipalities

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet meeting today decided to create additional posts to strengthen accounts and health departments in corporations and municipalities in the state. 354 new posts will be created in this regard.

Other decisions are as follows-

A three-member committee to examine the content of government advertisements

A three-member committee will be formed to examine the content of government advertisements. The formation of the committee is based on the judgment of the Supreme Court. The committee consists of a chairman and two members. A senior media person with not less than 15 years of experience in the field of media/ not less than the rank of Principal Secretary to the State Government/ not less than the rank of Additional Secretary in the Indian Information Service can be the chairperson.

Retired IAS Officer, Retired Director of I&PRD, Retired Additional Director of I&PRD and Media workers with not less than fifteen years of working experience can be members.

It was also decided that one member should be a woman. The age of the committee members will be between 45 and 70 years. The government The content of advertisements issued by semi-government, public sector, self-governing bodies, courts, commissions etc. will be under the purview of the Scrutiny Committee. Departments will ensure compliance with Supreme Court guidelines regarding content of advertisements. The maximum term of the committee is two years.

Salary revision of judicial officers

Judicial officers of district judiciary will be allowed revised pay structure with effect from 1.1.2016. The Finance Department has been tasked with taking necessary decisions for disbursement of arrears.

Transfer of land
4.332 hectares of forest land lost along the 127.42 km Nandarapadav-Cherupuzha section of the proposed hill highway in Kasaragod district and passing through forest land up to Edapparamkolichal will be replaced by remedial afforestation. Due to non-availability of required land under Public Works Department, revenue land at Bhimanadi Village will be transferred to Forest Department for disposal on behalf of the State Department as per the guidelines issued by Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.


Appointment

The tenure of PS Rajeev, Member of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Kerala Land Development Corporation Limited, has been extended for one year from 31.12.22 under the terms of re-appointment.


It has been decided to re-appoint V.I Tajuddin Ahmed as the new Director of Thiruvananthapuram Cooperative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE), subject to conditions.
