For this year's Christmas-New year bumper, the first prize of 16 crores has been won by ticket number XD 236433 sold from Sree Mookambika agency of Palakkad district. Agent S Madhusoodanan from Moothanthara, Palakkad got his tickets from the Thamarassery lottery sub-office, Wayanad. The ticket was purchased one week back from a shop near the Palakkad KSRTC bus stand and the details of the buyer are yet to be known. Since it's mandala season at Sabarimala and Pongal, chances that the buyer is from a different state is a there. Madhusoodanan is hoping that the lucky winner will approach him soon. The agent will get an amount of 1.6 crores as commission.

Sree Mookambika agency sold about 1.20 lakh Christmas-New year bumper tickets through different shops this year. Since bumper tickets can be purchased from any sub-office, Madhusoodanan purchased them from 11 different districts to get different serial numbers. Sree Mookambika agency holds third place for selling the most number of tickets. A consolation prize of 35,000 rupees will be given to them. Since starting lottery sales in 2011 Madhusoodanan has won prize 13 times. In 2015 he won the 3 crore monsoon bumper.
