Three injured as car falls down hairpin bend in Ponmudi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three people were injured after a car overturned at a hairpin bend in Ponmudi. The accident happened at the 12th hairpin bend at Ponmudi around 5.15 pm. After failing to brake, the Swift car fell upside down the road injuring three people from Karamana in the vehicle.

The group came in two cars to Ponmudi and the accident occurred while returning after visiting the hilltop. There were five people in the car that crashed. Of these, three suffered injuries, including on the head. The injured were first admitted to the Vithura Taluk Hospital and then to the Medical College.

Ponmudi Police, Vithura Fire Force and other tourists led the rescue operation. Ponmudi was very crowded today as it was a holiday.
