IDUKKI: Four including two BEVCO (Kerala State Beverages Corporation) workers were arrested by Santhanpara police for selling illegal Alcohol. Trivandrum natives and BEVCO workers Binu and Biju along with Vinu Mathew and his son were arrested. According to police, these gangs usually misled people into buying illegal alcohol as given by BEVCO. A fake sticker showing the government emblem was usually placed along with the bottle. Mostly, auto drivers were the happy customers who spend their little earnings consuming this illegal poison.

BEVCO workers noticing the shady dealings of their coworkers diligently managed to inform the police while being in good rapport with the two workers. The arrested BInu used to lure customers at BEVCO by big promises of giving them alcohol worth 440 Rs for 300 Rs. According to police, the illegal alcohol has been transported from Ernakulam. It was just seven months before that Binu go transferred from the Trivandrum outlet to Idukki.
