LONDON: Former British Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested as part of an investigation into his links to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew was arrested at his temporary residence, Sandringham Estate. The arrest is reported to be for misconduct in public office.

The police said the arrest was made after a thorough investigation. Officials also stated that they were investigating reports that Andrew sent business reports to Jeffrey Epstein in 2010. While not named directly by police in accordance with standard U.K. legal practice, authorities confirmed a man in his 60s was arrested following searches in Norfolk and Berkshire. The arrest has happened on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's 66th birthday.

The Epstein file contains pictures of Andrew with young women. Emails released in February 2026 from the Epstein files suggest that between 2010 and 2011, Prince Andrew may have knowingly shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein regarding his official duties as a UK trade envoy. The Epstein files mention that Andrew handed over reports about his visits to Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam. Andrew also gave Epstein confidential information about investments. King Charles III formally stripped his brother, Prince Andrew, of his remaining royal titles, including "His Royal Highness" and his status as a prince, following renewed scrutiny over Andrew's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. However, Andrew has denied the allegations.
