MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly planning to keep Malayali star Sanju Samson out of the Asian Games. After Sanju was dropped from the Zimbabwe tour, the BCCI is also planning to make changes to the Asian Games team. The BCCI earlier gave an unofficial explanation that Sanju was not dropped but rested for the Zimbabwe series.
Now connecting the dots, it looks like the Malayali star was dropped, deliberately keeping the Asian Games in mind. The Asian Games are scheduled to be held in September. The report says that the BCCI is preparing for a major overhaul with two months left. It is indicated that Sanju's poor form in the Ireland and England tours made the BCCI look for other options. Sanju scored just six runs in three matches in the two tours combined.
Sanju was also left out of the playing XI for the second T20I against England in Manchester.
