KOCHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Thursday selected Kochi as their next venue for protesting against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process conducted by the Election Commission of India. The protest, titled “Jantar Mantar at Kochi”, will be held at Rajendra Maidan on November 7th at 4 pm.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke will likely join the protest in Kochi. Vijay Mallangi, the group's south zone lead, and Aafreen Nawaz, its national secretary, will be in attendance at the event on November 7th.
This is the first time since the detention of CJP leaders in Delhi that the cockroaches are organising a protest. Last month, Dipke, along with CJP leaders, including Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, was detained by Delhi police for conducting a protest, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
