17-year-old national athlete dies by suicide, Jennifer's body found hanging 

KOLLAM: A 17-year-old athlete, who was a member of the Indian team that won the South Asian Girls' Shot Ball Championship, was found dead at her residence in Sakthikulangara on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as Jennifer Simon, daughter of Dhanya Simon and the late Simon Henry, of LH Nivas in Kurumula Thoppil.
The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. while the teenager was at home with her mother. According to local reports, Jennifer had entered her bedroom to bathe and closed the door. When she did not emerge after a significant period, her mother raised an alarm, alerting neighbours and relatives. Upon breaking open the door, they found her hanging from the ceiling fan using a shawl.
Jennifer’s father had passed away several months ago. She is survived by her brothers, John Britto Simon, who resides in the UAE, and Emmanuel Simon, who is in Poland.
