CHENNAI: Actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Julie, aka Marie Juliana, levelled serious allegations against Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay and his party Thamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) supporters. Julie also filed a police complaint against the cyber-attack and trolling she and her family faced.
According to the actress, she had to seek respite from the police and file a complaint against eight people for cyberbullying. However, Julie said that she received information from the police that the case would be civil and not criminal. She attributed the regime change from DMK to TVK to having caused the change in police behaviour.
“A TVK supporter and an advocate are the brains behind the whole process. I was happily married and pregnant at that time. However, I lost my baby to miscarriage. I was under severe mental stress following the coordinated attack from swarms of TVK supporters on social media. They abused my husband in the vilest way. Just because a woman criticised them, they chose to attack her on the cyber media in the most degrading way possible.
I filed the complaint in March during DMK’s time in power, but with TVK now at the helm, the complaint vanished. Vijay is responsible for me losing my child. He might not have direct involvement, but he could have easily asked his supporters to back off and not target a woman on social media. He didn’t.”
Meanwhile, veteran actress Ambika criticised actress Julie for using rude remarks at CM Vijay.
