NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a virtual political movement that has gained significant popularity on social media, has announced a protest march at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 6. The demonstration is being organised to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said through social media that he will travel to India to participate in the protest.
In a video message, Dipke said that the future of more than one crore students has been put at risk due to alleged irregularities in examinations such as NEET, CBSE, CUET, and SSC GD. He also claimed that some students had lost their lives, yet no one had been held accountable.
"More than 800,000 people have signed a petition demanding the minister's resignation, but he has not stepped down. The time has come to transform our social media movement into a peaceful protest," he said.
According to Dipke, supporters can join him at the airport and then proceed to the Parliament Street Police Station to seek permission for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar.
"Our Constitution gives us the right to raise our voices peacefully. That is exactly what we will do. This movement is ours," he said while sharing the video on social media.
