DUBAI: Popular singer Nisar Wayanad has passed away in Dubai at the age of 43. He passed away at Mankhool Hospital in Dubai. Nisar, a native of Kambalakkad in Wayanad, became popular through Mappila songs. He had also sung for Malayalam and Kannada films.
He had arrived in Dubai last month for a music programme. He sought medical treatment after developing a fever. He was scheduled to perform at several programmes in Dubai and Saudi Arabia in the coming days. His sudden death has left his family, friends and fans shocked.
Nisar was particularly popular on music programme stages because his voice closely resembled that of Bollywood singer Udit Narayan. He was the son of Ibrayi and Zainaba of Iroth House in Kambalakkad. His wife is Shahana Nisar.
