THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Theatres in the state that remained closed due to the Covid outbreak will open on Monday. The decision was taken after the government held discussions with the theatre owners ahead of the opening of the theatres. Permission has been granted, including for second shows.
The theater owners, which demanded a reduction in entertainment tax, also sought a reduction in the fixed deposit in KSEB when the theatres had remained shut. Minister Saji Cherian has assured the theater owners that he will hold discussions about the concessions with the departments and the Chief Minister.
'Kurup', starring Dulquer Salmaan, will be the first major film to hit the screens. The movie will release on November 12.
