'Mary Kom had affair with junior boxer, she has been involved with another individual since 2017'; former husband raises allegations

NEW DELHI: Indian boxing legend Mary Kom recently alleged that her former husband Karon Onler had taken control of her assets and properties worth several crores of rupees. In an interview, Mary Kom claimed that she had lost ownership of the land she had acquired through years of hard work. Onler has now responded to these allegations, making counterclaims against the boxer.

Onler accused Mary Kom of having extramarital relationships. He alleged that in 2013, she was involved in an affair with a junior boxer and that, since 2017, she has been in a relationship with another individual working at the Mary Kom Boxing Academy.

According to Onler, the alleged relationship with the junior boxer led to disputes between the two families. He claimed the issue was later settled, following which Mary Kom allegedly began another relationship with a staff member at the boxing academy in 2017.

“In 2013, she was having an affair with a junior boxer. Our families had a fight, and later we reached a compromise. Since 2017, she has been in a relationship with someone working at the Mary Kom Boxing Academy. I have WhatsApp messages as proof. I remained silent,” Onler said.

Onler stated that he has no objection to Mary Kom moving on in her personal life, but questioned why she chose to publicly accuse him. He also claimed that he is aware of where she currently lives and who she lives with.

“I don’t mind if she wants to have another husband. But don’t blame me. If you want to accuse me, bring proof and documents. I know where she lives and with whom,” he said.

Further, Onler alleged that Mary Kom consumes alcohol, including vodka and rum. He added that while she accused him of drinking, she did not disclose her own alcohol consumption to the media.
