Major theft in Kannur, steals 62 sovereigns from locked house

KANNUR: Gold of 62 sovereigns were robbed from a locked house in Kannur. The major theft happened at Kuttur in Kannur. The theft happened when the family left the house for Eid Ul Fitr celebrations. The theft came to light when they returned on Tuesday.

The thieves entered the house by breaking the door adjacent to the well at the back. The theft was committed by breaking open the cupboards. The police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident. Fingerprint experts have reached the spot and collected evidence. CCTV footage from near the house is being examined.
