
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V D Satheesan inaugurated the state-level school Praveshanolsavam at Pattom Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School. Education Minister N Shamsudeen presided over the function. Ministers K Muraleedharan, A P Anil Kumar, Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V V Rajesh and others attended the function.
The chief minister and the education minister welcomed the students of class one. The chief minister later over new bags and other study materials to the children. Minister N Shamsudeen said that more than three lakh children have reached class one. He added that children should learn love and compassion for their fellow beings along with their studies. Chief Minister V D Satheesan said teachers and parents should identify the talents of children.
‘This is a time of knowledge explosion. That is, the speed of knowledge generation has increased. There are new findings in every field. The biggest challenge for children is to find and learn the knowledge that is emerging every minute.
Students should try to seek new knowledge. I want to say that they should try to gain new knowledge through reading and through teachers. Kerala is ahead in the education of girls. Our goal is to bring good educational institutions to Kerala. I assure you that the time will come when children from abroad will come to Kerala to study. You can ensure good education here without going to other countries. We should work against drugs. You are our dream,' said the chief minister.
