THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More details have emerged in the dastardly murder of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy in Nedumangad. The latest findings indicate that baby Arshid had 91 wounds all over his body. Earlier, the police inquest had found 51 wounds and internal injuries in 40 parts of his body.

According to the ante mortem report, there were a total of 91 injuries on the child's body. It is believed that all these injuries were inflicted within a month. The report also states that the blow to the head caused internal bleeding. The police suspect that the mother, Akhila, also abused the child. The police say that there are inconsistencies in Akhila's statements and that she knew that Ashkar was torturing the toddler.

The police had earlier found that the toddler had even sustained injuries to the genitals. The findings suggest that injuries to internal organs and brutal physical abuse led to the child's death. Meanwhile, it is reported that the police had earlier tried to hand over the child to Child Line, and it was Akhila who created trouble by not agreeing to the move.
