PATHANAMTHITTA: The wife of former Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu has said that the supplementary investigation report into his death is incomplete. The further investigation was carried out by a special team following directions from the Thalassery Additional District and Sessions Court. Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha had approached the court seeking a fresh investigation, pointing out 13 alleged shortcomings in the original police probe. The special investigation team was led by Kannur Range DIG G H Yatheesh Chandra and P Nidhinraj.

According to Manjusha, investigators failed to fully collect and analyse the phone records of the case's sole accused, P P Divya. She also alleged that the report did not adequately examine the phone conversations involving a petrol pump owner named Prashanth, who had raised corruption allegations, and the district collector. She further claimed that the authenticity of CCTV footage connected to the case had not been fully verified before the report was submitted to the court.

Manjusha said the family has faith in the new government but remains firm in its demand for a more detailed investigation.

Naveen Babu was found hanging in his official quarters on the morning of October 15, 2024. Following his death, Manjusha, along with their children and Naveen Babu's brother, personally met the Chief Minister and Home Minister and submitted a memorandum seeking a CBI investigation into the case.
