Elderly woman sustain serious injuries in stray dog attack in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: An elderly woman sustained serious injuries in a stray dog attack. The woman has been identified as 73-year-old Bhargavi of Odalur in Thrithala Palakkad. The stray dog bit her leg when she was standing in the courtyard of her house. She also suffered injuries on her head and fingers. The stray dog ran when people from inside the house came out hearing her screams. She has been admitted at Thrissur Medical College.

Karthiyani (73), a bedridden patient in Thrissur's Erumappetty, was killed after attacked by a stray dog. Her mentally challenged son Devadasan, who was in the room with her, was also injured in the attack. Karthayaini had been bedridden for two years after she fell and sustained a fracture. When Karthayaini's younger son Manikandan came with food for them, found Karthiyani lying in a pool of blood. Her entire body, including her face, was mutilated. Despite attempts to take her to the hospital, she died. The dog entered the house through the door which was half opened.
